Install Visual Studio Code on Kali Linux We will be using the official APT repository for the installation of Visual Studio Code on Kali Linux. ![]() Fortunately there's a host of these both from Microsoft and third-parties that you can install right from within Visual Studio Code. The stock install of Visual Studio Code is deliberately barebones and lightweight, so you'll need to spec it out to your requirements with extensions. If you are on an ARM Chromebook, download the ARM version of the installer, if you're on an AMD or Intel Chromebook, you want the 圆4 installer. The September 2020 update of Visual Studio Code added support for ARM-based Linux machines, which means you can now use it on devices like the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. Visual Studio Code has been installed on your Ubuntu machine. To install the VS Code snap, open your terminal ( Ctrl+Alt+T) and run the following command: sudo snap install -classic code That’s it. On ArchLinux: Visual Studio Code is available in the Arch User Repository (AUR), so you can install it using your favorite AUR helper, like yay or paru, by typing the following commands in Terminal: For yay users yay -S visual-studi-code-bin For Paru users paru -S visual-studi-code-bin. When downloading the installer make sure you grab the right version for your Chromebook. The Visual Studio Code Remote - WSL extension lets you use the Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) as your full-time development environment right from VS Code. Snap packages can be installed from either the command-line or via the Ubuntu Software application. You can also launch it from the terminal simply by typing code.
